Marnier

Grand Marnier is a liquor first made in 1880 by Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle. The enterprise was founded by his family in 1827. It is a kind of triple sec. A mixture of cognac, distilled essence of orange and other ingredients. The alcohol percentage is 40% and it is mainly used in cocktails. The name has been invented by Cesar Ritz, a famous "hotelier" of Paris? He came to that idea when Alexandre make himtaste his Marnier in Curaçao.
