Balvenie 17 Year Old - New Wood - Limited Release - Bottled 2006

€450,00
Taxe inclu.
The story of Balvenie is a tale of tradition, innovation, and a commitment to producing exceptional single malt whisky. Founded in 1892 by William Grant, this distillery remains an integral part of the Grant family's company to this very day.

In its early years, Balvenie primarily served as a source of malt for Grant's blends. However, following the global success of Glenfiddich, the decision was made in 1973 to introduce Balvenie as a single malt brand. While it remained relatively rare for some time, the opening of Kininvie in 1990 and later Ailsa Bay in Girvan granted Balvenie the freedom to focus on its single malt production.

Today, Balvenie stands as one of the most recognized and esteemed whisky brands worldwide. In 1993, they introduced the groundbreaking 12-year-old "DoubleWood," an expression credited with pioneering the use of cask-finishing, setting a standard for the distillery's innovative approach.

In 2006, Balvenie continued to push boundaries with a limited edition addition to the 17-year-old wood-finished range. Crafted from a single batch of 79 casks and finished in fresh Quercus Alba (American white oak), this release exemplifies Balvenie's unwavering commitment to quality and innovation in the world of single malt whisky.
